Continuing on from
tg’s account of the embarrassing conversation we had with the keyboardist from speedstar, in a sort of role reversal situation (tg usually having an expert memory and sense of observation where mine is generally lacking), I was having a strange conversation with him about the fact that he is also a ‘contemporary dancer’ (an art form for which I have much contempt, but at the same time, I secretly love it) and as well as me actually realising he was in speedstar, I also noticed that his tambourine was broken and was able to name drop two contemporary dance troops which I have seen and he has performed in. He didn’t make it to supermild though, prolly thought we were a bit weird.
On Sunday we finished the first stage of the ~ move Tallandoon – a 3 step process. Ktya told me that moving house is apparently the second most stressful thing you can do in you’re life. Ktya has moved house at least 15 times in her life, that averages out to more than once every two years.
Unusable things that are/were stored in the hallway at Tallandoon:
- Approximately 7 computers and 3 monitors
- 1 x broken pinball machine
- 2 x guitar amps
- 2 x keyboards
- 1 x arm chair
- 10 x large empty boxes, some with odd holes cut out and sticky tape in strange places
- 50 x pieces of foam that j is planning to make a ‘foam wall’ out of
- plus a number of unidentifiable boxes precariously balanced on top of the wonky book case
In other news:Ate dinner at the African restaurant on Henley beach road on Friday night. It was actually pretty good I thought, definitely felt like we could have been somewhere other than Adelaide. Their first shipment of Ethopian beer had just arrived and it went down pretty well, except when J’s mum let us know that she was saving the single bed in J’s old room for our children?
Went to the cemetery with my Nanna on Saturday and visited seven dead people. Discovered that my Grandma and Grandpa’s grave was up for ‘renewal’ and if you don’t renew then they bury someone else there.
FYI: 1 x burial plot that can hold 4 bodies and unlimited ashes costs $20 per year and is renewable for up to 50 years at a time.
Sunday night ate Australia’s Pizza House again, personally I think a.p.h. is terrible and I feel sick thinking about it, but when it’s put in front of me I can’t help but eat it.
