If I can not dance, I want no part in your revolution.
--Emma Goldman
I don’t understand ppl who don’t like dancing. I sit and listen to my ipod at work, and in strong opposition to the office environment, certain songs seem to take me to the flashing coloured dance floor in my imagination.
So, it brings me to the question of why do some ppl not like it? It seems to me to be a very natural reaction that most humans have to music, you can see it in children, before they have inhibitions, they hear music and they just dance.
Anyway, went to Jstn and Sphia’s wedding on Saturday and it was a truly love filled event. Sphia’s brothers speech was soo nice and he was so filled with the emotion he felt towards them that he had to stop a number of times to try to stop tears of happiness, I can’t explain how genuinely beautiful it was, but really, lets get back to dancing.
So after the entrée, it was announced that we should make our way to the dance area, but not to dance, to watch Jstn and Sphia do their wedding waltz and they proceeded to do a choreographed dance, not sure if it was a waltz, but it was like dancing with the stars, and everybody loved it, no-one more than Jstn and Sphia. Then they got the whole reception up to join in a conga line. Even sphia’s Nonna was up dancing most of the night.
So, why do most of the guys (before you comment, I said ‘most’ not ‘all’) around me have an aversion to dance? I can’t understand it, they tend to like music so what happened? And how come they are so drastically different from the girls around me, who love to dance? And how did this come about, cause my parents generation doesn’t seem to have this problem?
