Well, we made it home. Actually I've been home for a week now.
After being refused entry to Canada, kicked of the train and driven back to USA in a paddywagon, we talked our way back in and made it too toronto.
When we tried to get back to New York, we missed our train and had to get Graham to drive us 2 hours to Niagra to catch up with it. Then when we got to New York, we missed our train to Long Island (not our fault for once though).
The flight from Long Island to La went smoothly. Then from La to Auckland could have been the most turbulant flight ever. Then in Auckland we could see our bags being loaded on the plane and Claire goes "hey your bag looks like its open?" . Then when we got to Sydney baggage claim, my dirty underwear mesh bag came out on the carrousel! My clean underwear bag never came out at all?
Then I got to Adelaide and my parents meet me at the airport after my 36 hour journey and my dad takes photos of me coming through the arrival doors, hugging my nanna, picking up my luggage, my luggage.
Did nothing all week despite having a huge todo list.
Went to Port Vincent on Saturday, ate a steak sandwich for dinner, went to sleep, ate the best scrambled eggs in the world for breakfast, had to leave early to get back for lunch at Nannas at 1pm.
Got to Nannas at 1:30pm turns out lunch was at 12pm, and they had waited for me.
Potato and Carrot soup accompanied by a light SA white,
Sweet beef curry and 5 vegeis, coleslaw and garden salad accompanied by a French red,
traditional trifle followed by almond liquer which i think was off.
rating (five star scale)
compared to nannas previous form - 4 stars
compared to finest restaurant in NYC - 2.5 stars
comments - not bad for 85 yr old!
Claire got here from Sydney last night and now by the end of Monday, my todo list is almost complete.
She is an inspiration.
