Soooo then… you’re a concert pianist and your finishing your medicine degree…

So a couple of weeks ago I get a message from jn on a Friday afternoon ‘Lets go meet my Dad for a drink cause I have to pick something up and he’s at the pub’ When we got there, everyone was wearing a suit, there were three girls wearing formal dresses with ‘Miss World’ sashes on, an Adelaide 36er wandering around and a lot of business people doing a lot of weird networking stuff. Then Jns dad got up on a podium and made a speech thanking people for attending this great event, and then there were like all these speeches, including the Miss World SA winner and runners up 2nd and 3rd who made an apology for the 1st runner up who couldn’t make it “cause she lived too far away”… luckily there was free beer

Then on Sunday, Jn gets me to drop him at the casino cause he has to help his parents set up for some kind of dance thing, so he calls me while I’m at fathers day lunch and says ‘can you come cause there’s no one here, bring your parents’ so when I get there there are big signs everywhere saying ‘Invited guests only’, and inside there are like a 150 people watching this full on ballroom dance competition with women in sparkly costume and men in suits and Jns up on a dj podium running the pa system. The highlight was someguy doing a two minute moonwalk but I was too disturbed by the very very high waisted pants to really enjoy it.  ¶ 4:50 PM
