Good thing we weren’t born amish..
So around 5pm last night I got word from nai that all signs pointed to a big storm brewing, set to hit in 30 – 40 minutes. Apparently all the cyclists were leaving the building at once causing chaos and lift delays. Got home and it was all dark (due to black out) and I found (after my eyes adjusted) j and tg both asleep! It was like 6pm or something but apparently there was nothing else to do. We got some candles and sat around for a bit, but the darkness was all too much and everyone was getting nervous, so by like 6.30 we all decided the best thing to do was to leave as fast as we could.
In other news..
I have Japanese tonight, I think ppl in my class (which for some reason is full of computer nerds) think I’m a bit mental, last week I started laughing cause I read one of the example sentences and I thought it said ‘Mr Tanaka wants to be a pirate’ but actually it said ‘Mr Tanaka wants to be a pilot’ which is not really funny at all. But really who are they to think I’m mental, we then had a conversation about space, and the teacher asked where in space you would like to go, and one guy said he’d like to live at a Legrange point and then he looked up celestial mechanics in his dictionary and attempted to explain the concept in Japanese. ¶ 11:42 AM

There's a very straightforward reason why there's lots of computer nerds in your Japanese class:
1) Typical computer nerds generally watch Anime, and some of the clever/stupid ones decide that they'd like to learn Jap to watch the cartoons without subtitles.
2) Typical computer nerds generally watch a lot of porn, which more often than not contains cute Japanese women. What better way to get a REAL LIFE girlfriend (:-o) than to learn their language? Haha.
I'm a computer nerd, but I hate anime. My excuse is that I've been learning Japanese since primary school, and as a result, Japan is a place I've always wanted to go (thanks to countless Japanese educational videos in class - always seems like such a cool place). I'm really rusty with my Japanese now... I can only barely get by. I'm thinking of taking classes again, but no time. Whatever. I don't know where that part of the comment was going.

next time there is a black out why not bring out the acoustic guitar and start singing some old crowded house covers or the beatles.
